Myles Winfarrah Sent Back to Prison for Breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order
Registered Sex Offender Sent Back to Prison for Breaching SHPO
Myles James Winfarrah, a 26-year-old registered sex offender previously of Northampton, was recently returned to prison after violating the terms of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). Winfarrah was convicted in 2019 of sexual assault against a woman and subsequently placed on the Sex Offenders' Register. His SHPO imposed strict conditions upon his release from prison.
In March 2024, Winfarrah breached his SHPO by engaging in sexual activity without notifying the police of the individual's name, address, and telephone number within seven days. He further violated the order by developing a relationship with the same woman without disclosing her details to authorities. Additionally, he failed to report an address where he had resided for 12 hours or more, a location where a child was present.
Winfarrah's breaches continued in September when he neglected to register at a police station within three days of leaving prison. He was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of breaching his SHPO and two counts of violating his notification requirements.
In November, Winfarrah pleaded guilty to the charges at Northampton Crown Court. He returned to the same court in December where he was sentenced to one year and two months in prison.
