20-Year-Old Jailed for Sexually Threatening Teenagers

A 20-year-old man, Nathan Jones, has been sentenced to three years and 11 months in prison at Nottingham Crown Court for seven counts of sexual offenses against two victims under the age of 16.

Jones, of Farm Croft Road in Mansfield Woodhouse, pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

The charges stem from a series of incidents between January and August 2018, during which Jones engaged in sexual activity with the two teenage girls.

According to Nottinghamshire Police, Jones threatened to post humiliating photos of the victims online if they refused his advances or reported him. The victims, who had blocked Jones on social media, contacted Childline, leading to the police investigation.

Detective Constable Helen Sanders of Nottinghamshire Police stated, "Jones was very controlling of both victims. They found themselves in a position they couldn't get out of it because if they refused, Jones threatened to expose their secrets and photos to the community. Due to Jones' persistence and increase in control, they finally reached out for help. I'd like to praise them for doing so and for supporting this investigation throughout. Their actions have helped to put the offender behind bars where he is unable to cause harm to anyone else."

Detective Constable Sanders continued, "I hope that their bravery inspires other victims of violence and sexual abuse to come forward."
