Sheffield Man Found Guilty of Child Sex Offences
A Sheffield man has been found guilty of two child sex offences. Nathan Walker, 35, previously of Sicey Avenue in the Firth Park area of the city, was convicted following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court last week.
The offences involved a schoolgirl who was just 14 years old at the time. She was left feeling "disgusted" by what happened to her.
PC Elisabeth Slack, the investigating officer, described Walker's actions as "sinister and manipulative." She stated that he took advantage of a young girl who was so terrified that she felt she had to suffer in silence and couldn't speak out about the abuse.
PC Slack commended the victim's bravery and courage in coming forward to report the traumatic events she endured. She emphasized that no child should be subjected to such abuse at such a young age.
The jury found Walker guilty of two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child on Monday, 9 October. However, he was found not guilty on another count of the same offense.
Walker has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 1 December for sentencing. The court will determine the appropriate punishment for the crimes he has committed.
