Pervert Neil Ogden Jailed for Child Abuse Images and Discussion

Neil Ogden, 46, has been sentenced to two years and two months in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court for possessing, distributing, and discussing indecent images of children. Police discovered 46 category A indecent images (the most serious), 31 category B, and 33 category C images on his phone, along with prohibited images and extreme pornography.

The investigation revealed that Ogden had shared seven category A images with another individual and engaged in conversations about the sexual abuse of children. These discussions included explicit details about the physical development of children and their desire to engage in sexual abuse, even proposing joint sexual activity with multiple children.

Ogden pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children, three charges of distributing indecent images, possessing prohibited images, possessing extreme pornography, and publishing an obscene article.

In mitigation, Ogden's defense argued that he acknowledged a problem and had sought limited support. However, Recorder Julian Taylor deemed the offense too serious to warrant anything but an immediate prison sentence, emphasizing the disturbing nature of the discussions about child sexual abuse.

Ogden was placed on the sex offenders' register for 10 years and subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for the same duration. His phone was forfeited and destroyed.
