Convicted Sex Offender Arrested for Creating Online Accounts

A convicted sex offender has been brought before the courts after creating accounts on popular dating and messaging platforms, including Plenty of Fish, Kik, and Badoo.

Patryk Orlowski, 40, of Salerno Road, Southampton, appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday for failing to comply with a court order. He previously admitted to creating online usernames on multiple websites, violating notification requirements imposed on him in 2020.

On the dating app Plenty of Fish, he used the username "PATSOTON123", while on the messaging app Kik, he went by "PATKUAS82". The court heard that he also established accounts on the dating sites BBW Cupid and Badoo.

Orlowski was convicted in 2020 of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child using chat applications. Having pleaded guilty at the time, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register, requiring him to notify police of any new usernames created.

However, he breached this order this year by creating multiple online accounts. He pleaded guilty to five charges of failing to comply with the notification requirements.

Orlowski was released on bail and is scheduled to appear at the same court for sentencing on February 2, 2024. A pre-sentence report has been ordered.
