Dangerous Offender Jailed for Sexual Offenses in Leamington Spa
Paul Sanders, 36, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of a series of sexual offenses against women in Leamington Spa. The offenses occurred within a 24-hour period on April 6, 2024.
Warwickshire Police described Sanders as a "very dangerous man" following his conviction on September 23 at Warwick Crown Court. He was found guilty of sexually assaulting one woman, attempting to sexually assault another, and trying to force entry into a house with the intent to commit a sexual offense.
The force commended the courage of the victims in the case, which played a crucial role in securing the conviction. A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said, "A dangerous offender has been jailed after being convicted of a series of sexual offenses against women in Leamington. On April 6, 2024, Paul Sanders sexually assaulted a woman, attempted to sexually assault a woman and attempted to force entry to a house with the intent to commit a sexual offense."
Sanders, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, and knowingly trespassing on premises with intent to commit a relevant sexual offense. He was sentenced to four years in prison, followed by an additional three years on license upon his release. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
Det Sgt James Stone-Fewings, a sexual offense investigator from Warwickshire Police, said: "The courage shown by all the victims in this case must be commended. Thanks to their continued support we have been able to ensure a very dangerous man is no longer on the streets."
