Former Welder Found Guilty of Sexual Assault

A former welder has been found guilty of sneaking into the home of a Peterhead mother and subjecting her to a terrifying hour-long sexual assault.

The court heard that the attacker, identified as Smitras, gained entry to the woman's home while she was asleep. He then proceeded to sexually assault her for a prolonged period.

This case follows allegations of sexual assault against two other women in Peterhead town centre, which were also attributed to Smitras.

The victim in this case described the ordeal as "horrifying" and spoke of the lasting impact it has had on her life.

Smitras is currently awaiting sentencing for his crime.
