Man Sentenced for Exposing Himself at Travelodge Hotel
Reginald Roach, 63, was sentenced to 16 weeks suspended jail term after exposing himself at a Travelodge hotel in Gwynedd. The incident occurred on Saturday when Roach, who was staying at the hotel due to council placement, entered a public area in a state of undress.
Defense solicitor Tudur Owen stated that Roach's bizarre behavior stemmed from a serious brain injury he sustained earlier in life. He emphasized that there was no indication of a sexual motive behind Roach's actions.
Roach pleaded guilty to the charge of exposing himself and apologized for his actions. In addition to the suspended sentence, he was ordered to pay £150 in compensation to the hotel worker who was deeply uncomfortable by his behavior. He was also required to register as a sex offender.
Judge Gwyn Jones described the incident as "bizarre conduct" at a hotel frequented by families and other visitors. Prosecutor James Neary suggested that alcohol might have played a role in Roach's actions.
The prosecution detailed how Roach moved his hips, drawing attention to his exposed area, leaving the hotel worker feeling significantly uncomfortable.
