Paedophile tried to groom a teenage girl online, asking her for photos of her genitals, sending pictures of his own.

A 60-year-old man, Robert Burke, has been jailed for attempting to groom a teenage girl online.

Burke, of Nowell Terrace, Harehills, targeted a Facebook profile that was actually set up by a paedophile hunter group.

He contacted the profile, believing it to be a 14-year-old girl, and within minutes began making lewd suggestions about having sex with her.

He requested pictures of her genitals and sent her images of his own, including a picture of his erect penis and later images of him masturbating.

Burke also suggested the girl could stay with him at his home address and arranged to meet her.

However, he was confronted by the paedophile hunter group at Pudsey Bus Station and subsequently arrested.

He admitted to police that he had attempted to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempted to arrange a child sex offence, and attempted to cause a child to watch a sexual act.

Burke was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court this week.
