Robert Coleman Sentenced to 15 Years for Sex Offences Against Children
Robert Coleman, a 42-year-old man from Gloucester, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a series of sexual offences against children.
Coleman pleaded guilty to one count each of assault of a female aged 13 and over by penetration with part of body/thing, taking an indecent photograph/pseudo photograph of a child, and distributing an indecent photograph/pseudo photograph of a child. He also admitted to five counts of sexual assault.
In May 2021, Coleman uploaded indecent images of a child to a social media account. The Online Child Abuse Investigation Team tracked these images to an address in Banbury, leading to Coleman's arrest on suspicion of voyeurism. While he initially denied taking the images, Coleman admitted to uploading them during police interviews.
A search of Coleman's mobile phone revealed 279 indecent images and videos of children and women. He answered "no comment" to all other questions posed by officers.
Coleman was arrested on July 8, 2021, and charged on November 8, 2024. He has been placed on the sex offenders register for life, subject to a sexual harm prevention order for life, and given restraining orders for life on each of his victims.
