A private dance teacher who repeatedly took advantage of a girl.

Private Dance Teacher Jailed for Sexual Abuse

Robert Louw, 27, of Rookery Road, Tilston, Malpas, in Cheshire, has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison for sexually abusing a young girl. Louw, who pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child, must also register as a sex offender indefinitely and is banned from working with children or vulnerable adults upon his release.

Mold Crown Court heard that Louw had been messaging the victim on Snapchat. Judge Rhys Rowlands stated that the repeated abuse had a "profound" impact on the young girl, who even considered suicide at one point. "You were taking advantage of a young girl many years younger than yourself," the judge said to Louw, who taught in the Wrexham area.

The court also imposed a sexual harm prevention order on Louw, which will remain in effect indefinitely.

Andrew Green, Louw's defense attorney, acknowledged his client's acceptance of responsibility for his actions. Simon Rogers, the prosecuting barrister, revealed that the abuse was brought to light when the victim's mother discovered a note and confronted her daughter about it.

While Louw admitted to a kiss, he initially denied any other sexual activity during questioning.
