Convicted Paedophile Jailed for Repeatedly Contacting Ex-Partner

Robert Pratt, a convicted paedophile, has been jailed for breaching court orders by repeatedly contacting his ex-partner. The 31-year-old, who was previously imprisoned for having sex with a 13-year-old girl, was ordered to stay away from his ex-partner but ignored these restrictions.

Pratt, from Wakefield, made almost 250 phone calls to his ex-partner in a single day and also sent her numerous WhatsApp messages. He even attempted to circumvent the court orders by including messages within bank transfers, depositing small sums with references like "ring me".

Prosecutor Carmel Pearson detailed Pratt's relentless efforts to contact his ex-partner, highlighting the sheer volume of calls and messages. She explained that Pratt had also failed to comply with the sex offender register by not informing the police of his living arrangements.

In mitigation, Matthew Stewart acknowledged that Pratt's imprisonment was inevitable. He emphasized Pratt's lack of drug or alcohol issues and mentioned the illness of his father. He also highlighted the fact that Pratt was unable to see his own three children due to his convictions.

Judge Mushtaq Khokhar sentenced Pratt to 18 months in prison for his repeated breaches of the court orders.
