Man Jailed for Raping Teenage Girl

A 36-year-old man, Robert Llewellyn Price from Amlwch, has been sentenced to six years and eight months in prison for two counts of rape. The sentencing took place at Caernarfon Crown Court on Thursday, June 6th. Price was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

The victim, who was 16 at the time of the assaults, reported the incidents to police in April of this year. Price had lured her to his home on two separate occasions, where he raped her. After the assaults, the victim confided in Price that she was worried she might be pregnant. He threatened her, stating he would "be in trouble" if she told anyone.

Following the victim's report, Price fled the scene but was later apprehended on a cliffside in Amlwch. He was subsequently remanded into custody.

Detective Sergeant Mark Dickson commented on the case, saying: "This was a horrific incident for this young girl, who demonstrated exceptional bravery in coming forward to report Price's crimes. I commend her courage in doing so, and her strength throughout the entirety of the case. I hope she can now focus on moving forward with her life, with the knowledge that Price is now being held accountable for these disgraceful assaults."

DS Dickson concluded by urging any victims of sexual abuse to come forward, assuring them that the police will "do everything in our power to pursue offenders."
