Paedophile found with hoard of sickening abuse images of children as young as three.

A 37-year-old man, Scott Broadbent, has been sentenced for possessing over 1,300 indecent images and videos of children, some as young as three years old.

Broadbent, a former Nissan worker from Sunderland, was caught after police raided his home and discovered a vast collection of illegal material, including indecent images, prohibited images of children, and extreme pornography involving animals.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images, possession of extreme porn, and possession of a prohibited image of a child at a previous hearing.

The court heard that police found over 700 category A videos and images, 212 category B videos and images, and over 100 category C videos and images on Broadbent's devices. He also had over 2,000 prohibited images and videos.

The ages of the children depicted in the indecent material ranged from three to 16 years old.

Broadbent expressed remorse for his actions and said he had lost his job at Nissan after his arrest. He was deemed to be at low risk of reoffending.

Judge Adams sentenced Broadbent to a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. He must also complete 40 rehabilitation days and 100 hours of unpaid work.

Broadbent will be on the sex offender's register for 10 years and has been issued with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
