Sent pictures of his dog to someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl in a bid to groom her.

Man Jailed for Attempting to Groom '13-Year-Old' Girl Online

A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison for attempting to groom a child online. Scott Burke, of Leverington, Cambridgeshire, contacted what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl on social media in November 2021.

However, the "teenager" was actually a police officer. Burke quickly turned the conversations sexual, sending a photograph of his penis and a picture of himself with his dog.

Over a two-week period, Burke repeatedly discussed his desire to meet up with the girl and engage in sexual activity. He even claimed to have booked them a hotel room and suggested taking her to a sex toy and lingerie retailer.

When arrested, Burke attempted to claim his account had been hacked. He pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to arrange, facilitate or commission sexual activity with a child, one count of being an adult attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and one count of attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13-15 into sexual activity.
