Man Jailed for Six Years for Attempted Rape in Salford

Sediq Ali, 34, from Birmingham, was found guilty of attempted rape and sentenced on Monday, March 18, at Minshull Street Crown Court.

Officers were called to an address in Salford on October 30, 2020, following an incident that had happened hours earlier. Ali had threatened the woman before subjecting her to an attempted rape.

Following an investigation, Ali was subsequently arrested and charged with the offense.

In addition to his sentence, Ali will also be required to sign the sex offenders register and be subject to a restraining order.
