Foster Carer Steven Breslin-Green Caught With Indecent Images

A registered foster carer, Steven Breslin-Green, has been found guilty of possessing indecent images of children.

The 40-year-old from Abertillery, Wales, admitted to downloading nearly 200 child abuse images on his laptop. He was involved in various settings with children and young people in Newport, according to the city council.

Newport Council confirmed that Breslin-Green has not worked for them since last year when allegations against him surfaced. Although he had never been directly employed by the council, he provided foster care services and worked in other settings involving children under supervision.

The council emphasized that none of the charges related to any children he cared for. However, they stressed that such crimes are serious and cannot be tolerated as the victims depicted in the images are innocent.

Breslin-Green pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images of children: 40 category A images (the most serious kind), 64 category B images, and 91 category C images. These offences were committed between April 22 and May 21, 2023.

He will now be required to register as a sex offender. His sentencing is scheduled for March 6th, and he has been granted conditional bail.
