Sex Offender Jailed for Over 13 Years for Crimes in New Forest

Steven Oxborrow, a 33-year-old former martial arts instructor and entertainer from Wootton, has been sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison for multiple sexual offenses against children.

Oxborrow, who was considered a "liked and trusted" figure in the community, abused three young victims over a seven-year period between 2005 and 2012.

He was convicted in April of one count of rape of a child under 13, five counts of sexual activity with a child under 13, three counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, and other offenses related to indecent images of children.

The sentencing judge imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and lifetime restraining orders against Oxborrow, prohibiting him from contacting his victims.

Detective Constable Donna Kay of Hampshire Constabulary's Amberstone Unit praised the victims' courage in coming forward and emphasized the importance of reporting such crimes.

"We hope that today's sentencing can provide the victims with a sense of closure and comfort that he can no longer harm them," said DC Kay.

The investigation began when one of the victims reported the abuse at the age of 12, leading to the discovery of further victims and indecent images on Oxborrow's computer.

Hampshire Constabulary highlighted its commitment to supporting survivors of sexual assault and urged anyone who has been a victim to report the crime.

The NSPCC issued a statement emphasizing the profound impact of child abuse and urging victims to seek support.
