Knowsley Man Jailed for Seven Years for Modern Slavery and Sexual Assault

Steven Walsh, 29, of no fixed abode but originally from Knowsley, was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court today to seven years in prison.

Walsh pleaded guilty to a series of charges including modern slavery, two counts of sexual assault, assault with intent to resist arrest, and possession of prohibited items in prison.

Merseyside Police highlighted the sentence as a warning to those who exploit vulnerable members of the community.

Detective Chief Inspector Julie Milburn praised the victim for their courage in supporting the investigation, stating: "I would like to salute the bravery of the victim in this case. I hope that this sentence will help them in recovering from his crimes."
