Ellesmere Port Man Jailed for Sexually Assaulting Young Girl

A 33-year-old father from Ellesmere Port has been sentenced to five years in prison for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl. Stuart Lloyd, who denied the allegations, was convicted by a jury after a trial. During sentencing, Lloyd made a threat to the victim's relatives, stating "In a couple of years I'll get you." Judge Andrew Menary QC acknowledged the potential contempt of court but took no action, commending the public gallery for their restraint.

The judge highlighted Lloyd's attempt to buy the victim's silence by giving her money, indicating an awareness of his wrongdoings. The court heard that the assaults came to light after the victim confided in her grandmother. The girl detailed Lloyd's inappropriate actions, including kissing her on the face, putting his tongue in her mouth, and touching her body, including her genitals. The judge described Lloyd's behavior as "gross."

Lloyd was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and was subject to a Sexual Harm Behaviour Order for five years, prohibiting unsupervised contact with girls under 16. The defense argued that Lloyd's autism spectrum diagnosis and ADHD contributed to his actions and would make his time in prison more challenging. They also pointed out his lack of prior convictions and the impact of his separation from his family.
