Man Sentenced to 16 Months for Indecent Exposure on London Underground

Terence Emberson, 55, of Church Road, Hertford, has been sentenced to 16 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to indecent exposure and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) on the London Underground.

Emberson was arrested on June 1st, 2023, after a woman reported him for exposing himself and masturbating on a Victoria Line train.

The incident occurred at around 7pm as Emberson boarded the train at Tottenham Hale station. He was seen staring at two other women before turning towards the victim and exposing himself.

Officers quickly identified Emberson as the suspect, confirming a breach of his SHPO, which was issued in 2020 for a previous exposure offense.

Emberson was sentenced on August 15th at Inner London Crown Court and was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.

Detective Constable Emma Martin of the British Transport Police stated, "I'm pleased to see Emberson behind bars for his sickening actions which left the victim horrified. Sexual Harm Prevention Orders are given to protect the public, and Emberson's blatant disregard of this proves his predatory mindset. No one should be subjected to this behaviour as they travel, and we are absolutely committed to stamping it out."
