Glenrothes Man Convicted of Child Abuse by Jury at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court

The first in-person jury to sit at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court in over two years has convicted a Glenrothes man of child abuse dating back more than three decades.

Thomas Hepburn, 62, was found guilty of two charges of lewd, indecent and libidinous behaviour by the majority of jurors on Monday afternoon.

The charges against Hepburn related to incidents that occurred between 1986 and 1991. The trial heard evidence from the victim, who is now an adult, as well as other witnesses.

Hepburn will be sentenced at a later date.
