Teenager Pleads Guilty to Multiple Counts of Sexual Activity with a Child

Ian Josiah Sidney, 19, formerly of Galloway Road, Swindon, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual activity with a child during a trial at Swindon Crown Court last week.

The court heard that Sidney is alleged to have used aliases including Sam Boid, Sammy Boid, Ryan Boid, Joey Sidney, Josiah Sidney, Samantha and Angela McDough.

Sidney met his 14-year-old victim on a bus before assaulting her. The offenses took place in Swindon during September 2012.

He will be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on September 27.

Detective Constable Gemma Vinton, who investigated the case, said: "The victim showed great courage in giving evidence in court, which has no doubt contributed to the successful outcome in this case."
