Man Jailed for Indecent Exposure and Possession of Child Abuse Images

Tommy John Back, 22, of Rooksbury Croft, Havant, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for a series of offenses including indecent exposure and possession of indecent images of children.

Back pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court to the following charges:

• Four offenses of exposure
• Two offenses of voyeurism
• Three offenses of making an indecent image of a child
• Possession of an extreme pornographic image
• Using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm, or distress

The court heard that on February 29, Back followed a 15-year-old girl in Pleasant Road, Milton, Portsmouth, and indecently exposed himself to her. Later that same day, he exposed himself to a 30-year-old woman waiting for a bus in Goldsmith Avenue.

On March 5, Back stalked another 15-year-old girl in the Prospect Way area of Havant.

Detective Constable Dave Glover, who investigated the case, stated, "We take all reports of indecent exposure very seriously, and Back's behavior was very concerning. I'm pleased that the court has recognized the danger he posed to members of the public and has imposed a sentence that sends a strong message that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated."

Glover urged anyone who has been the victim of similar offenses to report them to the police immediately. "It may relate to somebody that is already known to us or help us to build a picture of what is happening so that we can take action to prevent future offending," he said.
