20-Year-Old Jailed for Rape and Weapon Possession in Portsmouth

A 20-year-old man, Wade Terry King, has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for rape and possession of an offensive weapon in Portsmouth.

King, who has no fixed address in the city, was found guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl at an address on Foster Road on Saturday, March 12, 2022.

After failing to appear for his trial in November 2023, King, who was 18 at the time of the offence, was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on Thursday, February 15. He received a seven-year prison sentence for the rape and was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.

In addition to the rape conviction, King was also sentenced to a further six months imprisonment for possession of an offensive weapon, an offense that occurred in June 2023.
