Wayne Mansbridge Jailed for Possessing Child Abuse Images

Wayne Mansbridge, a 57-year-old from Oak Grove, Twycross, Pembrokeshire, has been sentenced to 14 months in prison for possessing indecent images of children.

Judge Huw Rees described Mansbridge's interest in children as "unhealthy" and "degenerate," stating that the images represent real children who have suffered abuse. The court highlighted that this was not Mansbridge's first offense, as he has a history of convictions related to child sexual abuse and breaches of his sex offender notification requirements.

Police discovered 149 indecent images and videos of children on Mansbridge's phone during an unrelated investigation in June 2022. The images involved children as young as eight years old and spanned categories A, B, and C. Mansbridge pleaded guilty to three offenses of possessing indecent images and two offenses of making indecent images.

Despite making contradictory statements to the probation service, the pre-sentence report indicated a possibility of rehabilitation. Judge Rees revoked Mansbridge's existing community order and imposed the 14-month prison sentence. He is now required to register as a sex offender for 10 years and comply with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
