Paedophile Jailed after breaching several orders imposed against him.

William Felton Sentenced to Jail for Breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order

William Felton, 38, of Bryn Avenue in Kinmel Bay, was sentenced to three years and four months in jail at Caernarfon Court on Wednesday, October 11. He had previously pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and three counts of failing to comply with notification requirements.

The SHPO, which was made last year in relation to Felton's attempts to engage a child in sexual activity, was ordered to last until November 2030. The breaches occurred between August 2 and 24 of this year, according to prosecutor Laura Knightly.

Felton used aliases, 'Jamie' and 'OpenMindOpenPervert', and a new email address to participate in online chatrooms, all of which he failed to notify the police about. He also engaged in conversations with what he believed to be a seven-year-old girl on the site 'Chat Avenue', attempting to arrange a "play date" with her for the purpose of sexual activity. He even communicated with the "mother" of the child, who was actually an undercover police officer.

Felton sent several explicit sexual messages to the "child." Police seized a mobile phone and a laptop from his address in August, but he admitted to having another laptop that he had not disclosed to the police, which was hidden out of sight. This constituted the third notification breach.

Anna Price, defending Felton, stated that he had sought counseling before committing these offences in an attempt to "seek help." However, Judge Nicola Saffman declared that Felton had been "relentless" in violating the orders against him.

Judge Saffman said, "You cannot help yourself in the sexual pursuit of young female children. You will do whatever it takes in order to gain access to children, female children, in order to abuse them sexually. It's clear that your offending behavior has escalated."

The judge described the breaches as "very serious" and sentenced Felton to three years and four months in jail. An order was also made for the forfeiture and destruction of the devices used by Felton.
