Dunfermline Charity Shop Volunteer on Register for Sexual Chat with Teen
A 73-year-old Dunfermline charity shop volunteer has been placed on the sex offenders register after admitting to engaging in a sexualised conversation with a 14-year-old boy.
William Fraser, who volunteered for The Salvation Army for 16 years, quizzed the teenager about his penis size and sexual history at the High Street shop on November 9 last year. He asked the boy if he had ever "had a d*** up him", Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard.
The fiscal depute, Azrah Yousaf, explained that Fraser's inappropriate questions made the young victim feel extremely uncomfortable. Despite the boy's attempts to avoid answering, Fraser persisted in his line of questioning.
Fraser was interviewed by police following his arrest and claimed the boy had told him he was gay, prompting his inquiries. He also suggested his conversation was acceptable because the boy identified as gay. However, these claims were rejected by the court.
Sheriff Krista Johnston deferred sentencing until April 30 to obtain background reports. Fraser's bail has been continued in the meantime.
