Zhenhao Zou Guilty of Drugging and Raping 10 Women in London and China

Zhenhao Zou, a 28-year-old Chinese PhD student, has been found guilty of drugging and raping 10 women in London and China. Police fear he may have assaulted over 50 other victims.

Inner London Crown Court heard that Zou filmed nine of the attacks as "souvenirs" and kept a trophy box containing belongings from his victims. Jurors found him guilty of 11 counts of rape against 10 women between 2019 and 2023.

Two of the victims have been identified, while eight remain untraced. The Metropolitan Police believe Zou could be one of the UK's most prolific sex offenders.

Officers have video footage showing unidentified women who they believe were raped in both the UK and China. All of these victims are believed to be of Chinese heritage.

Zou, who also used the name Pakho online, befriended fellow Chinese students on WeChat and dating apps before drugging them at his flats in London or an unknown location in China. He secretly filmed his attacks using mobile devices and hidden cameras.

Senior Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Saira Pike commended the "incredibly strong and brave" women who came forward to report Zou's crimes. She emphasized that Zou is a serial rapist and a danger to women, highlighting the ongoing difficulty in supporting unidentified victims.
