Pervert driving instructor sexually assaulted a pupil and filmed students while they were taking lessons in his car.
A driving instructor who sexually assaulted one of his pupils and filmed students during lessons has been sentenced to eight months in prison.
Adam Bagshaw, who ran A to B Driving School in Kettering, was found guilty of voyeurism, harassment and sexual assault. The 56-year-old was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on Thursday, February 22.
The court heard that Bagshaw had made inappropriate comments to one of his students, suggesting she start an Only Fans account and sell her used underwear online. He had also filmed her legs and behind without her knowledge.
Bagshaw's victims described the impact of his actions in emotional victim impact statements. One woman said she was "scared to have more driving lessons with another male instructor" and that she now prefers to take the train on long journeys.
Another victim said she had failed her driving test twice due to anxiety caused by Bagshaw's behavior. She said she had to start her lessons from scratch with a new instructor.
In a letter to the court, Bagshaw apologized for his actions and said he had sought counseling. He also said he had changed his job and was now an HGV driver trainer.
Sentencing Bagshaw, Judge Adrienne Lucking KC said, "Driving instructors are in a position of trust. The public must know that driving instructors who commit sexual offences will go immediately to prison and that's what will happen today."
Bagshaw was also placed on the sex offenders' register for 10 years and will be supervised by the probation service for one year after his release.
