Adrian Stone Jailed for Sexually Assaulting a Child on Isle of Wight

A 58-year-old man from Newport, Isle of Wight, has been sentenced to four years in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting a child.

Adrian Stone pleaded guilty at Isle of Wight Crown Court on January 13th, 2025, to two counts of sexual assault on a female and one count of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Stone contacted a girl under the age of 16 in September 2024, initiating a conversation that led to an unsupervised drive in his car. During this drive, he took her to a secluded location near the River Medina where he sexually assaulted her.

At the time of the offense, Stone was already subject to a SHPO following a previous sexual offense conviction. This order prohibited him from having unsupervised contact with any girl under 16 without parental consent and awareness of his past conviction.

After the assault, Stone continued messaging the victim. However, she disclosed the messages and assaults to friends and family who alerted the authorities. Stone was arrested and initially denied the accusations. While he admitted to lying about his communications with the victim, he initially denied the sexual assaults. He later confessed to these charges in court.

In addition to the prison sentence, Stone is subject to an extended license period of four years, a Restraining Order, and a new Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
