Alastair Legge, a 52-year-old foster carer from Banffshire, has been placed on the sex offenders register following convictions for historic assaults on two girls.

Legge was found guilty of two counts of indecent assault at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. The offences occurred over 20 years ago at an address in Macduff and within a vehicle during journeys across the region.

Despite the convictions, Legge avoided a prison sentence.
