Police trainer tried to have sex with '15-year-old girl' in KFC who was actually undercover cop.

Former Police Special Constable Jailed for Attempted Child Sex Abuse

Alex John Foster, 43, a former training officer with Northamptonshire Police, has been sentenced to two years in prison for attempting to meet a '15-year-old girl' for sex. Foster was caught by fellow officers in a KFC car park in Nottinghamshire with condoms and lubrication after grooming the teenage girl online. The 'girl' was actually an undercover officer.

During online conversations, Foster asked the undercover officer about her sexual experience and stated he was "looking for someone to have sex with." Recorder James House KC, presiding over the case, emphasized Foster's position of trust as a police officer and the negative impact his actions would have on public perception of the police force.

"You knew perfectly well that communicating with a 15-year-old girl was not only wrong but unlawful," said Recorder House KC.

Foster, from Northamptonshire, pleaded guilty to three charges related to sexual communication with a child, including arranging or facilitating and intentionally encouraging or assisting. In addition to his prison sentence, he was also given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the Sex Offenders' register.

Steve Noonan, Director of Major Investigations at the Independent Office for Police Conduct, described Foster's actions as "abhorrent" and praised the professionalism of Northamptonshire Police's counter-corruption unit for bringing Foster to justice.
