Twisted Pervert Found with Child Sex Abuse Images

A 46-year-old man, Andrew Tonner, was found with a collection of child sex abuse images and videos showing children as young as two.

Tonner had downloaded the disturbing material online and some of it showed youngsters in "extreme distress," according to a court hearing.

Police discovered the content after intelligence revealed that it was being uploaded to his social media account. A search of his Heaton home uncovered 15 sickening pictures and 19 videos on his electronic devices, despite his attempts to delete some of the files.

Ten of the photos and 18 of the videos were classified as category A, the most serious kind involving sexual penetration.

Tonner, who has since moved to Landfall Drive in Hebburn, pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent image of a child at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.

The offenses were said to have taken place between November 11 and November 14 last year.

Prosecutor April Hall stated that the case should be sent to the crown court for sentencing, highlighting the aggravating factors of the age range of the children (approximately two to 14) and the extreme distress caused to a child in one of the videos.

Tonner was released on unconditional bail and will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on October 20. In the meantime, he must register as a sex offender.
