Paedophile Jailed for Possessing Over 1,000 Indecent Images of Children

Andris Dozbergs, 56, has been sentenced to one year in prison after being found guilty of possessing over 1,000 indecent images of children.

Dozbergs came to the attention of police after they received a report that an account on Facebook had uploaded indecent images of a child. Upon searching his home in Dogsthorpe Road, Peterborough, officers uncovered two phones, a laptop, and a can of pepper spray.

Dozbergs initially denied having a sexual interest in children, claiming that strangers had sent him "half naked" images of children which he had simply left on his phone. However, further searches of his electronic devices revealed a total of 1,053 indecent images, including 263 category A images, the most severe classification.

Dozbergs pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, one count of possessing prohibited images of children, and one count of possessing a prohibited weapon. He was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday, August 25th.

In addition to his prison sentence, Dozbergs was also issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 10 years to monitor any future offending.
