Angel Hill Jailed For Violent Sexual Abuse
Angel Hill, a 20-year-old woman transitioning from male to female, was sentenced to an extended prison term for violent physical and sexual abuse.
Minshull Street Crown Court heard that Hill exhibited "violent, manipulative and controlling behaviour" towards her victim. She pleaded guilty to assault by penetration, sexual assault, strangulation, and threatening with a bladed article.
Judge Jason MacAdam stated that Hill showed no remorse or insight into her actions, demonstrating a self-centered approach that disregarded the consequences of her behavior. He deemed her dangerous and imposed an extended sentence of 11 years, comprising seven years in prison followed by four years on extended license.
Prosecuting attorney Stuart Neale described how the victim struggled to breathe during the strangulation incident and recounted Hill's threat, "I'm going to kill you," made earlier that same occasion. A statement from the victim detailed the detrimental impact these incidents had on their mental health.
Defense attorney Julian Goode argued that Hill, being young and experiencing severe mental health issues, was genuinely remorseful for her actions. Judge MacAdam acknowledged these factors while emphasizing the seriousness of Hill's crimes. He reduced the sentence to account for Hill's youth, mental health, and guilty plea, stating that the victim was spared the trauma of testifying.
Judge MacAdam ordered Hill to register as a sex offender and mandated she serve at least two-thirds of her seven-year custodial sentence before being considered for release.
