73-Year-Old Man Jailed for Repeatedly Breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order

Anthony Bullett, 73, of Alexandra Road, Harwich, was sentenced to 32 months in prison on Friday, March 17, at Chelmsford Crown Court. Bullett admitted to breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) on 12 separate occasions between November 28, 2022, and January 12, 2023.

Detective Constable Mark Harrington, who investigated the case, stated, "Anthony Bullett moved to the Harwich area in November 2022 and almost immediately violated the terms of his SHPO, which prohibited him from having contact or associating with any female child under the age of 16."

"Instead, he attended events where children were present with their parents. Thankfully, no incidents were reported to us, but we are grateful to the community members who voiced their concerns, allowing us to take action and bring Bullett to justice. This prevented his dangerous and predatory behavior."

"Safeguarding children remains a top priority for us. We encourage anyone who has been a victim of a sexual crime to come forward and report it to us."
