Evil Anthony Burn Jailed for Life

Anthony Burn, 57, has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 15 years for a campaign of rape and sexual abuse against seven young girls spanning almost 40 years.

Burn's horrific crimes began in the early 1980s when he was a teenager and continued until 2020. He targeted young girls, some as young as nine, repeatedly raping them and leaving them traumatized.

One of his victims, who was raped over 50 times, was just a young schoolgirl when the abuse began. Burn would visit her home regularly, raping her in her own bedroom. She was left feeling helpless and traumatized by the repeated attacks.

Another victim described how Burn would repeatedly rape her, eventually becoming submissive to his abuse out of fear. She was constantly worried about getting pregnant as a result of the assaults.

Despite being investigated by police in the past, Burn managed to escape justice for decades. However, the courage of his victims, who eventually reported his crimes, finally brought his reign of terror to an end.

Judge Christopher Prince described Burn as "extremely dangerous" and said he would pose a risk to others until the day he died. "The gravity and amount of offending is abhorrent to any right thinking person," he said. "These are extremely serious offences committed by an extremely dangerous defendant."

Burn's sentence sends a clear message that justice will be served for victims of sexual abuse, no matter how long ago the crimes occurred.
