Bewdley Man Jailed for Rape

Audey Loveridge, 47, of Woodman Caravan Park, Ribbesford Road, Bewdley, was sentenced to eight years and two months at Worcester Crown Court on October 3rd for a rape that occurred in December 2022.

Loveridge was found guilty following a trial and was also handed an indefinite restraining order against the victim and ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Detective Constable Simon Reilly of West Mercia Police expressed that the sentence was "welcome in offering closure" for the victim, acknowledging that the trauma she endured will unfortunately continue to affect her.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson stated: "This sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the impact it has had on the victim. We hope it brings some sense of justice and allows her to begin to move forward."
