Trying to meet schoolgirl Kayleigh Haywood for sex in the days before she was raped and murdered.

Man Jailed for Trying to Meet Kayleigh Haywood for Sex to Be Released

Bruce John Cordwell, who was jailed for 43 months for attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with schoolgirl Kayleigh Haywood, will be released after top judges reduced his sentence.

Cordwell, 20, admitted to sending sexually explicit messages to 15-year-old Kayleigh just days before she was tragically murdered by Stephen Beadman. Beadman was sentenced to life in prison for Kayleigh's murder.

The Appeal Court reduced Cordwell's sentence to 12 months, meaning he has now effectively served his sentence and is eligible for immediate release.

Kayleigh's body was discovered near a lake in Ibstock, Leicestershire, five days after she was last seen getting off a bus near Ibstock Community College.

Luke Harlow, 28, was also jailed for 12 years for grooming and falsely imprisoning Kayleigh. He had initially contacted Kayleigh before she was murdered.
