Convicted Sex Offender Jailed for 'Tweaking Nipples' Near Children

Christopher Bagley, a 77-year-old from Stroudley Way in Hedge End, was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Friday for engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and breaching his sexual harm prevention order.

The incident occurred in November at Dowds Farm Park, where a witness saw Bagley "furtively sheltering in the bushes" by the duck pond. The witness stated that he "unzipped his hoodie and proceeded to rub and tweak his nipples for about five seconds," before removing his jacket entirely.

"There were two boys on the opposite side of the pond area playing," the witness said. Bagley then left the pond area and park, passing by a children's playground, to return to his car.

Bagley's defense attorney, Damien Hayes, argued that the incident was a "private moment" as Bagley was simply undressing to urinate. However, Bagley himself admitted in court that he "could have done more" had he seen the young boys on the other side of the pond.

"I have no recollection of tweaking my nipples. I was not aware of anyone in the area," Bagley said.

The court recorder, Mr Donald Tait, sentenced Bagley to 18 months in prison. This is not Bagley's first offense. In 2006, he was sentenced in Bournemouth for admitting to sex offenses with young boys. As a former head of computing and maths teacher at Poole Grammar School, Bagley pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy, four counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a 10-year-old boy, and exposure.
