Man Imprisoned for Historic Sex Abuse

A 59-year-old man, Christopher Coleman, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to historic sex abuse charges against a 14-year-old boy.

The incident occurred at Guildford Crown Court on April 8, where Coleman, from Milford, admitted to six charges related to the same victim. These included three counts of gross indecency, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of buggery.

The victim came forward in February 2019 after reading a newspaper article about Coleman's previous conviction for similar offenses in 2013. Coleman had received two life sentences, with a minimum of 15 years, for those crimes, which was later reduced to 12 years on appeal.

The victim contacted Surrey Police to express his gratitude for ensuring Coleman's imprisonment. He revealed that he had also been abused by Coleman.

Following the victim's disclosure, Surrey Police launched an investigation and arrested Coleman in June 2019 on suspicion of multiple sexual offenses.
