Convicted Paedophile Released Early, Living Near School
A relative of convicted paedophile Christopher Sansam has expressed outrage after discovering he has been released from prison halfway through his sentence and is now living near a school.
Sansam was jailed in February for possessing 237 indecent images, including those depicting the sexual abuse of babies and toddlers. The court heard that he also boasted about incest in online chats and distributed the most extreme category of images using the file-sharing app KIK.
Despite his barrister describing him as "simple," Sansam's relative vehemently denied this, stating, "He's not simple at all. He did well at school, got his GCSEs, and went on to gain a full mechanics qualification at college. He even worked as a temporary supervisor at Cranswick Foods - he's not simple at all. He knows right from wrong and I'm so ashamed of what he has done."
Sansam, 24, admitted to liking children between the ages of eight and fourteen. He was sentenced to eight months in prison, a ten-year sexual harm prevention order, and required to sign the sex offenders register for a decade. However, his relative claims he is now living near a primary school in east Hull.
"He's only served four months and he's out already," the relative said. "The whole family are ashamed of him and we are sickened he has been moved to near a school. I just can't believe he has been near my children when he was charged with all of this and none of us ever knew. It wasn't until he was in court we knew anything about it. What Christopher did makes me sick and everyone needs to know what he has done."
