Colin McGregor Sentenced for Historic Child Sex Offences

58-year-old Colin McGregor has been jailed for 30 months for historic child sex offences committed in the 1980s.

McGregor, now residing at Windermere Avenue in Fareham, Hampshire, indecently assaulted a 10-year-old girl on multiple occasions. The victim did not report the abuse at the time but disclosed it to her husband and a psychologist in 2022 after experiencing stress-related illness.

Lancashire Police were alerted in summer 2023, leading to McGregor's arrest and interview by Hampshire Police. Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, he was charged with indecent assault offences.

McGregor pleaded guilty to these charges at Preston Crown Court last year. He returned to the same court on March 27th, 2025, where he received a 30-month prison sentence and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
