An Ebbw Vale man, Colin Morris, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after pleading guilty to over 10 sexual offences against children.

The 48-year-old was found guilty of three counts of rape of a child under 13, two counts of attempted rape, one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, six counts of making indecent images of children and three counts of distributing indecent images of children.

Morris received his sentence at Newport Crown Court on Monday, December 23rd, 2023. The minimum term he will serve is 21 years. This investigation was launched in April by the cybercrime team after intelligence suggested Morris had accessed indecent images of children online. A warrant executed at his Ebbw Vale property resulted in the seizure of digital devices which further uncovered offences including the rape of two children.
