Sexual predator jailed for 15 years for rape and coercive control

Connor Richard Barnes, of no fixed address on the Isle of Wight, was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on Tuesday, March 12, for two counts of rape and coercive controlling behaviour.

The offences took place between January 2020 and March 2022.

Barnes, 28, was found guilty by a jury on January 18 and remanded in custody until sentencing.

He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
