Convicted Child Rapist Engages in Explicit Chat with 12-Year-Old Girl

Connor Naylor, 20, was sentenced in 2018 for raping a young girl while in his mid-teens. Despite this, he continued to engage in harmful behavior. Between March and July 2020, Naylor struck up an online relationship with a 12-year-old girl he met on a gaming site, posing as a 16-year-old.

During their online conversations, Naylor exchanged indecent photographs with the girl and encouraged her to engage in sexual acts. The girl's sister discovered the explicit chats and contacted the police. Naylor was found to have numerous indecent images of the girl on his phone.

Naylor pleaded guilty to four offenses, including causing a child to engage in sexual activity and possessing indecent photographs of a child. The court recognized Naylor's emotional immaturity, Asperger's syndrome, and ADHD, but ultimately sentenced him to 32 months in prison.

Due to the severity of his offenses and the ongoing risk he poses, Naylor was also given an extended three-year license period. He will be subject to a prevention order and must register as a sex offender indefinitely.
