Flasher Banned from Play Areas Across Warrington
Dana Mustapha, a 34-year-old Iraqi national, has been banned from all children's play areas in Warrington following his release from prison.
The ban is part of a criminal behaviour order imposed by Warrington Magistrates' Court, which also restricts Mustapha from contacting any female in an open public space in Warrington, except in designated areas like public buildings, retail premises, sports stadia, and licensed premises.
The order prohibits Mustapha from entering Victoria Park and will remain in effect for four years, aiming to curtail his ability to commit further offences.
Mustapha's conviction stems from a series of disturbing incidents in Latchford and the town centre, involving threats, public indecency, and assault.
The court heard how Mustapha had exposed himself to multiple victims, made threats, and engaged in harassing behaviour. In one instance, he threatened a man walking his dog, shouting, "I'm going to f**k you up." In another, he exposed himself to schoolchildren while laughing.
Mustapha also exposed himself to a woman who asked him for a cigarette, and to a father and his toddler son at a children's play area in Victoria Park.
In a statement, the owner of a business in the town centre, who was targeted by Mustapha, said: "I have thought about selling the business as I no longer feel comfortable. It was once my happy place, but the stress and anxiety he has caused means I no longer enjoy my work. I have put my heart and soul into the business and he has destroyed it for me."
Despite a plea for a suspended sentence, Mustapha was sentenced to 46 weeks in prison. He was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation to the man he assaulted and given four-year restraining orders preventing him from contacting or approaching six named people or entering a specified Latchford street.
