Man Sentenced to Prison for Sexual Abuse of Girl in Filey

Daniel Christopher Broadmore, 36, of Somerdale Walk, Bramley, Leeds, has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison for subjecting a girl to sexual abuse almost a decade ago in Filey.

Broadmore was found guilty of all four charges relating to the girl, who was under 13 years old, after a trial in January 2024 at York Crown Court. The charges included inciting sexual activity, indecent exposure, sexual assault, and engaging in a sexual act in the presence of a child.

The victim reported the matter to North Yorkshire Police in April 2021 when she was in her late teens.

The sentencing took place on Friday, April 5, 2024.
