Actor Daniel Frogson Sentenced for Viewing Child Abuse Images
Actor Daniel Frogson, known for his role in the fantasy series His Dark Materials, has been given a suspended prison sentence for possessing hundreds of indecent images of children.
The 21-year-old, from Nottinghamshire, admitted to viewing the images over a three-year period, beginning when he was 17. Some of the images were classified as Category A, the most severe category of child abuse.
Frogson pleaded guilty to four charges at Nottingham Crown Court, all of which were committed between December 1, 2019, and January 13, 2023. He was sentenced to an eight-month custodial sentence, suspended for two years.
In addition to the suspended sentence, Frogson was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years, ordered to attend a sex offender rehabilitation program, and complete 15 other rehabilitation sessions.
According to Nottinghamshire Live, which was present at the sentencing hearing, police became suspicious of an IP address in Nuthall, Nottinghamshire, in early 2023, suggesting the download of child abuse images. A subsequent search of two devices seized from the address revealed the images.
Frogson, who was nominated for a Children's BAFTA for his starring role in the CBBC series Joe All Alone in 2018, has also appeared in the 2023 film The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, alongside Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton.
